In 2016, a Nashville-based IT business helped a client navigate one of the worst hacking incidents their clients had ever suffered. The client, a local physician’s office, was hacked…NOT through the network or a computer, but via the primary doctor’s personal free email address. The attackers were able to transfer tens of thousands of dollars from the doctor’s personal bank account to an overseas account.
It wasn’t long until local banks and credit unions began sending customers who had been hacked and scammed to the Nashville IT business. Realizing that this problem was becoming prolific and more common, they set out to find a way to protect their clients proactively.
